It was Plum Island and the marshes that drew Canton, Ohio native Wendy Lynne Dickes to live in Newburyport. She found the scenery to be a retreat from today's busy environment, and began painting landscapes to share the beauty, peace and spirituality that the area provides. Wendy is a member of and has exhibited with the Newburyport Art Association. She began her studies with Pat Lutz and has studied with multiple plein air artists, including Kevin Shea, Bill Duke and Allen Bull.  Wendy's Secret Garden Studio, tucked away within the flowers that inspire her artwork, is open to the public by appointment.
